Uzbekistan Launches Privatization of Mobile Operator Mobiuz

The State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan has announced the launch of the privatization process for 100% of the charter capital of Universal Mobile Systems, which operates under the Mobiuz brand. Rothschild & Co has been appointed as the lead strategic and financial advisor for the transaction, with KPMG serving as an additional financial advisor. 

The process will be conducted in three stages:

  • Expression of Interest (EOI),
  • Submission of Non-Binding Offers (NBO),
  • Submission of Binding Offers (BO)

Both domestic and international investors are eligible to participate. At the initial stage, prospective bidders must submit a written application including details about the applicant, its ownership structure, and audited financial statements for the past three years.

At the final stage, a binding offer must be accompanied by a bid security deposit equal to at least 1% of the proposed purchase price.

Mobiuz provides mobile voice and internet services using 4G LTE, UMTS, and GSM standards. As of year-end 2024, the company reported net revenue of UZS 2.086 trillion and served approximately 7.8 million subscribers.
