Key project highlights:

Scale
The project ranks among the largest industrial facilities not only in Central Asia, but globally.

Production capacity (annual)

  • processing: 60 million tonnes of ore (primary source of metals such as iron, copper, aluminum, etc.)
  • output: ~900,000 tonnes of copper concentrate (key input for smelting blister copper)

Resource base
Overall the “Yoshlik-1” deposit alongside “Kalmakyr” contain:

  • 45 million tonnes of copper
  • over 5,000 tonnes of gold
  • more than 100 years of secured resource supply

International collaboration
The project involved leading global engineering and technology companies, including Siemens, Wood, Worley, and others.

AI integration
Implementation of AI-based systems is expected to:

  • reduce energy consumption by 10%
  • lower production costs by 15%
  • increase labor productivity by 10%

Social impact

  • 6,000+ jobs already created
  • up to 40,000 jobs expected by 2030
  • International education programs to train specialists for the sector

Industry development
A new $2.5 billion copper smelter is currently under construction. Together with the new complex, it will increase annual output to:

  • 300,000 tonnes of cathode copper (high-purity copper)
  • 33 tonnes of gold
  • 203 tonnes of silver

Plan by 2030
Production growth:

  • gold: up to 175 tonnes
  • silver: up to 500 tonnes
  • uranium: up to 15,000 tonnes
  • copper: up to 500,000 tonnes

Total sector investment: $22 billion
