The National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP) has granted Asterium a license to operate a cryptocurrency exchange, making it the third officially registered platform in Uzbekistan. The license was issued by order of the agency’s director on April 15.

Until now, only two licensed exchanges operated in the country: Kobea Group and Coinpay. Notably, Coinpay previously partnered with Binance to launch a platform enabling local residents to trade crypto using national currency and bank cards.

This marks Asterium’s third license from the regulator. In March 2025, the company received approvals to open both a crypto store and a crypto depository. With the addition of an exchange license, Asterium is further strengthening its role in Uzbekistan’s emerging digital asset ecosystem.

Under the licensing framework introduced in December 2024, the state fee for a crypto exchange license is set at 73,400 basic settlement units (BRV), equivalent to UZS 27.525 billion. NAPP emphasized that these fees reflect international best practices and serve as a barrier against fraud and unqualified market entrants.

Uzbekistan continues to shape a regulated and secure environment for digital assets, balancing innovation with robust compliance standards.
