Privatization significantly contributes to boosting the country's economic growth, enhancing the national economy's competitiveness, diminishing the state's involvement in economic activities, and expanding the flow of foreign direct investment.
Over the last three years, public auctions have resulted in the sale of 26 assets in Uzbekistan, totaling $1.3 billion.
For the years 2024–2025, Uzbekistan intends to privatize shares in seven major enterprises on the international market with the assistance of professional consultants. The companies involved are:
JSC Thermal Power Plants (TPP)
TPP is responsible for generating electricity and supplying a specific quantity of electricity and heat to support the economic and residential needs of the country. The company operates seven thermal power plants, three thermal power cogeneration centers, and three service organizations for industry enterprises, including Tashkent Heat Center LLC.
JSC Dekhkanabad Potash Plant (DPP)
DPP is the largest potash fertilizer production enterprise in Central Asia. The complex's products are exported to about 30 countries near and far abroad.
Uzbekinvest National Export-Import Insurance Company (Uzbekinvest)
Uzbekinvest specializes in "General Insurance", offering services across all classes of insurance. The company has 200 district divisions and over 800 insurance agents nationwide.
JSC "Uzagrosugurta"
Uzagrosugurta offers insurance services to legal entities and individuals across all general insurance classes. The company encompasses 187 insurance centers and 179 agency outlets nationwide.
LLC “Inter Hotel”
The International Hotel is a five-star hotel in Uzbekistan, built in 1997, operating under the Mövenpick Hotels group.
LLC “Samarkand Automobile Plant” (SamAuto)
SamAuto specializes in manufacturing various types of automotive transport including buses, pickups, trucks, and both light and medium-duty specialized vehicles. Since its inception, the plant has produced over 40,000 units.
LLC “Tashkent Metallurgical Plant” (TMP)
TMP is one of Uzbekistan's largest industrial companies, specializing in producing cold-rolled steel with hot-dip galvanized and polymer coatings. The facility has an annual production capacity designed to handle 500,000 tons of finished products.
