As of September 1, 2025, Uzbekistan's international reserves totaled $50.1 billion, up from $41.2 billion at the beginning of the year.

The increase was primarily driven by higher global gold prices, as the value of gold in the reserves rose from $32.0 billion to $40.1 billion, despite a decline in the physical volume of gold from 12.3 million to 11.8 million troy ounces.

Foreign currency reserves stood at $9.45 billion, an increase of $849 million since the start of the year. Most of these funds are held in deposits with foreign banks. Investments in foreign securities also grew markedly, from $101.7 million to over $1.0 billion.

As of September 1, gold accounted for about 80% of Uzbekistan’s official reserves.
