The World Bank has published the second systematic diagnosis of Uzbekistan's economy, the first report of this kind was published in 2016. The report provides recommendations for the authorities to remove barriers to private sector growth, limit state participation in the economy, develop human capital and the country transition to a "green" economy. The report serves as a basis for selecting priority areas of cooperation between the World Bank Group and the Government of the country for 2022-2026.

In the Report, it is stated that the country authorities are setting bold goals such as reducing poverty among the population by half by 2026, as well as entering the number of countries with above-average incomes by 2030. And to achieve those goals, Uzbekistan will need to take action in the following four directions:

1) stimulating private-sector growth and creating sustainable jobs;
2) reforming the role of the state in the economy;
3) investing in programs focused on the interests of citizens and the development of human capital;
4) building an environmentally sustainable future.
